Timothy Raymond Smith passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2026 in the loving arms of his beloved wife Jo-Anne.
Tim was born January 16, 1959 in Selkirk, MB to Garnet Ray Smith and Sisper Lorraine Smith (nee Pruden).
Tim met Jo-Anne in 1989 and they were married in Selkirk in October of 1991, when he became a loving step-father to her two children. A year after they married, in The Pas, MB, they welcomed their daughter.
Tim was a labourer who worked a multitude of jobs from Diamond Drilling to Deck Hand on the freight boats of Lake Winnipeg, Sod Harvester, Rock Truck Driver, Chute Puller, and Lumber Miller. He retired in 2019 in Thompson, MB where he and Jo-Anne were living. Tim loved taking care of his yard, watching hockey and football, and playing with his grandchildren.
Tim was pre-deceased by his parents, Garnet and Sisper, his mother and father-in-law; Don and Anna Carnegie and his sister Susan Peebles.
He is survived by his wife Jo-Anne, children; Edith (Mathew) Cormier, Alex Kolisnyk, and Kendra-Ann (Tyler) Matthies, his grandchildren; Lilith and Timothy Cormier, Douglas Hay, Carson and Paul Kolisnyk, Jack Burnett, and Karma Matthies, sisters; Linda Dunning (Ken Chuba), Anita (Walter) McDonald, Valerie Pruden, and Rose Pruden, and in-laws; Helen (Bob) Henderson, Steve (Cathy) Carnegie, Wayne (Grace) Anderson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends too numerous to name.
In keeping with Tim’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25th in Thompson, MB and a Blue will be raised in his memory. Complete details of service will be available when confirmed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Boniface Cardiology (Heart) Sciences, 369 Tache Ave, CR 1005, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6, or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
