Tyler James Richard Smith

June 29, 1992 - March 25, 2023

It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Tyler James Richard Smith, age 30, of Selkirk Manitoba on March 25, 2023.  Tyler’s spirit will live on in his daughter Mila-June; parents Joanne and Trent Smith; brothers Trayton (Selayne), Trevin and Trenton; maternal grandfather Richard Krasnesky and paternal grandparents Jeroline Smith and Raymond Smith. Tyler was predeceased by his grandmother Patricia June Krasnesky.

Tyler had a contagious smile, a witty personality and a selfless way of being, always putting others before himself. Tyler adored his daughter Mila-June and was an amazing, loving and caring father. Mila-June was his world, undenied as he looked at her with proudness in his eyes. Tyler created numerous memories and experiences with Mila-June in their short time together, forever to be in her heart. He shared his love for the outdoors with Mila - June taking her camping, boating and fishing, being one with the earth.

Tyler was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors. He was most content when he was in the realm of the natural world. He was definitely one of the creators chosen ones to teach the fine skill of hunting and living off the land, having numerous opportunities to share many hunting and fishing expeditions with his friends and family.

Tyler was a social butterfly, having people around him fed his soul. Tyler walked with a hop and a bounce in his step, that expressed his energy and fervor.

We are forever grateful to our family, friends, Elders, Fire Keepers and community for the outpouring of love, support and ceremonies to honour Tyler.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 3 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will also be held in the chapel on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to. The service can be viewed via the link https://youtube.com/live/sF9vKJTVOUI

Honorary Pallbearers are Trayton Smith, Ed Freeman, Chris Dunning, Bretton Fewchuk, Darien Krasnesky, Dakota Sass, Kyle Sass and Fran Gonzalez.
