Valerie June Krut Obituary

Valerie Krut
October 9, 1950 – May 26, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, Valerie Krut, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She will be deeply missed by her children Chad and Bridget (Jarrod); her cherished grandchildren; her brother, Gary (Darlene); extended family; and many dear friends.

Valerie was a proud and loving grandmother to five very special grandchildren—Davis, Carys, Cali, Dexter, and Maddison—whom she absolutely adored. Her love for them was endless, and they brought immeasurable joy and happiness to her life.

Mom was fortunate to have many special people in her life, including her dear friends Vivian, Val, and Loretta, as well as her special cousin, Sharon, with whom she shared a close and meaningful bond with.

A special thank you to her niece and godchild, Sharisse, for the love, care, and friendship she so generously provided.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Darrel; her parents, Mary and John Chizick; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Catherine and Stanley Krut; and her sisters-in-law, Joannie Krut and Debbie Brown.

Valerie worked at CP Air before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She later returned to the workforce part-time at Gerdau MRM Steel, eventually moving into a permanent position. She retired in 2006, allowing her the opportunity to spend more time with her grandchildren, watching them grow and cheering them on in their many sports and activities, and spending time with her beloved grand dogs.

Though small in stature, Mom was incredibly strong, independent, and carried a heart of gold. She found joy in the simple things in life and never complained, no matter what challenges came her way. She loved cooking and baking for those she cared about, tending to her garden and flowers, shopping for the best deals, and, most of all, spending precious time with her family.

Mom's love, strength, and quiet kindness will remain in our hearts forever. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff who cared for Mom over the past 18 months.

Respecting Valerie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Golf & Country Club.
