Victoria  Maria Strauss

November 14, 1925 – October 24, 2025

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Vicki  who passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 99. Just a few weeks before her 100th birthday.

Vicki was predeceased by her loving husband John (2000), her parents,  son Larry,  brother Daniel & sister Irene, daughter-in-law Hazel, grandsons Jeff and Kevin.

Vicki  is survived by her daughter Gladys (Don), sons Roger (Bridgette)  and Gerald, daughter-in-law Irene, grandchildren Michael (Dez), Joey (Kathy), Bill (Cheri), Jerry (Laura), Duke (Cheryl), Vicky (Corey), Lexi and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

On September 24, 1944 she married the love of her life John, and was a stay at home mom in Yorkton, Sk until they moved to Brandon.  She loved to cook and bake & worked in the food industry.

A true entrepreneur at heart, mom and dad moved to Austin, Mb where she managed a restaurant on #1hwy for many years.  Her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression on her customers and community.

Mom and dad retired to Selkirk in 1995 living in the Kiwanis on the Red.  Mom loved to croquet and knit.  She also volunteered in the hospital gift shop.

Due to circumstances during covid she could no longer live on her own and moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Petersfield in April, 2021. For a little over 4 years life was enjoyed by the water surrounded by family.  On July 23 she moved in to the Betel home in Selkirk.

Vicky will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, her generosity toward others, and her unwavering love for those close to her. She lived a life of compassion, strength, and grace — always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand.

Thank you to all the staff at Betel Home for your care and compassion.  Also a big thanks to Lori who helped with Vicki’s stay in Petersfield.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
