Walter Chwartacki

Walter Chwartacki passed away peacefully at Gimli Hospital with family by his side on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the age of 66.  He now joins his granddaughter Nicolina (AKA Papa’s Boss).

Walter was born on December 20, 1953 in Gimli, Manitoba.  Walter will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Eleanor; son Warren; daughter Pamela (Rick); grandchildren Kaylee, Marcus and Matteo; mother Zennith Chwartacki; sisters Diana; Beverly; Evie (Tom); Gail (Ben); and Eileen; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and in-laws.  Walter is predeceased by his father Walter, children Walter and Priscilla.

Walter’s passions included driving on the winter roads as soon as they could open, working on his many Ford Taurus’ and spending time with his grandchildren taking them on many road trips.  He worked many jobs including the Manitoba Highways department for 25 years until he retired.  Walter was a hard-working individual who always gave a helping hand whenever needed by family and friends spending time with them as well.

Funeral will be held at Gilbart’s Funeral Home in Gimli on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
