William Alexander Favell
May 19, 1936 – January 21, 2022
Our beloved father passed away peacefully at his residence. He was 85 years old.
Dad was born at Birch Point, MB. He married our mother Clara in 1958 and started a family. He was a fisherman on Lake Manitoba for several years. He and his family relocated to Selkirk, MB, in 1971 when he began working for the Provincial Government. After this, he then moved on to Abex Industries (Amsco) until health issues forced early retirement in the early 90’s.
Dad is predeceased by his wife Clara; parents Alfred and Tina; sister Jean Mason (Earl); brothers Fred (Emily) and Tom (Hazel); brothers-in-law Joey Crate, Jimmy Govereau and Walter Kirkness.
He is survived by his sisters Sissy Govereau and Mabel Kirkness; brother Cyril (Janice).
His children Clint (Kim), Guylaine (Floyd), Glenda (Sean), Faron, Lyndon (June) and Earl.
His grandchildren who he was very proud of, Dale (Jannelle) and her daughter Destinee (Chris), Duane, Steven (Lindsay), Holly (Curtis), Austin (Tyra), Jayde (Matt), Brady (Jessica), Dominic (Korina), Dakota and Emma.
Great grandchildren Jamie Rose, Riley Parker, Oliver (The Boss), Kasey, Gavin (Cowboy), Greyson, and Amara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad loved watching sports, especially hockey. He was a season ticket holder for The Selkirk Steelers for several years. When his children were involved in sports, he was always there to cheer them on. This continued when his grandchildren too were involved in sports. Dad enjoyed playing cribbage at every opportunity. He looked forward to the weekly tournaments held at The Legion and The Army and Navy. He especially enjoyed going for coffee with friends at his favourite place, The Riverboat.
