William Hugh McCurry 

On Monday, August 25, 2025 at the age of 82, William (Bill) passed away quietly at the Seven Oaks Hospital with family by his side. 

Bill was predeceased by his spouse Delores Fiebelkorn, parents Hugh and Margaret McCurry, brothers-in-law Mel Laurila and Chirs Smithson; nephews Jason, Darwin and Steven McCurry and niece Leila Laurila. 

He is survived by his son Rob (Lauren); grandchildren Will and Abby; sisters Shelia Smithson, Elizabeth Laurila and Fernilee Born (Stan); brothers Don, Terry (Marlene) as well as many nieces and nephews who fondly remember Uncle Bill. 

Bill grew up in Plumas, Manitoba and after graduation worked for Manitoba Hydro throughout the province where he made countless friends and acquaintances. He settled in Selkirk where he lived for over 50 years. 

The family would like to thank the medical teams who supported Bill, especially over the last 10 months.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Home on September 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed via the following link https://youtube.com/live/-6ElYHEh8Mc
