Norman Schaubroeck
August 7, 1936 - August 10, 2017

Accidentally, on Thursday, August 10, 2017, Norm Schaubroeck, aged 81 years, a longtime resident of Selkirk, Manitoba, passed away.
Norman was predeceased by his wife Rose Schaubroeck (neé Leclair); his parents, Archie and Thérèse; brothers Armand, Maurice, Denis; and his sister Rachel. Also by his brothers-in-law, Gabriel, Oscar and Homer.
Norman is survived by his daughter Lorette (Lori) and her husband Daryle; his two granddaughters Leah and Rachel; his sisters Florence, Eveline, Gertrude (Laurent) and Juliette; and brothers Gilles (Eleanor) and Camille (Denise); his sisters-in-law Florence, Patsy, Lorraine, as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman will be missed by innumerable friends.
Norman was a long time employee of Fleet Vehicles Agency for the Province of Manitoba. In retirement, Norm was a tireless volunteer driver for the Gordon Howard Centre, for those who needed transportation for medical appointments, as well as for Rockwood Institution and Alcoholics Anonymous. Norm was known to drop whatever he was doing to respond to the needs of his family and friends when they asked for assistance.
As well as his volunteer work, Norm was passionate about sports and supporting his favourite teams. He was an avid lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Goldeyes, and Jets. And he was always happy to cheer on the Manitoba and Canadian curling teams with an enormous passion! And Norman always had his next puzzlebook in his hand while in his comfy chair, when not engaged with others.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk Manitoba, followed by a light luncheon.
The family requests that donations be made in Norman's memory to a charity of your choice.
