I too was one of Irene and Fred's boarders, in the early 70's. Irene was a kind and gentle person. She treated me like one of the family, often inviting me to her son's to play cards, or to dances in Petersfield. I live on the east coast now, and lost touch with her a long time ago, but I've never forgotten how good she was to me. My condolences to her family.

My sincere sympathies to Terry and family. I had the good fortune of billeting with Mrs Tillett while with the Steelers. Laj and I were treated like kings. She was incredibly caring and kind. A live well lived.
