Norman Perchaluk
Peacefully, after a brief illness; it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Norman Perchaluk, of Selkirk, Manitoba on the 5th day of October 2017 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86.
Norman will be lovingly remember by his wife of 63 years, Margaret; his five daughters Norma (Peter), Iris (Ingo), Sherry, Bonnie (Vince) and Brenda (Jeff); grandchildren, Christian (Johsa), and Artemis (Patrick); sister Alice, and brothers Nick (Mary) and John; in-laws, Mike (Margaret), Tony, Lizabeth (Gene), Philip (Rose), Marian, Theresa (Mike) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents Nellie and Joseph and his brother Bill; in-laws Paul (Mary), Irene, and Laura.
Norman was born at home and raised in the Somme School District. He met his love of his life Margaret in her home town of Sundown at a local dance. Their love for dance and music continued until his end. As a young man, Norman worked as a cook in a lumber camp. He had worked for Furnaceman for over 50 years, and owned and operated National Pride Carwash for a quarter of a century. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was strongly involved with his church, The Holy Eucharist, The Gordon Howard Senior Centre, and The Royal Canadian Legion Over 60 Club, all located in Selkirk.
Norman will be cremated, and funeral services will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, on his birthday, October 10th, at 2 p.m. A lunch will follow, there will be no burial at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your choice of charity or organization.
