Fred was a wonderful and caring neighbour for many years when we built the house north of his property. We shared the same Hydro pole and had many a conversation as to when it would finally fall over. He was more than willing to help out ....one night without any prompting he came out in a snowstorm to help push the car out of a drift and get it onto the road. Heart-felt condolences to all of his family and friends.

Dear Karen, Michelle and Kathy,

My memories of Uncle Fred...

Handsome young man marrying my aunt, seeing him flung in the air at the reception and the look of panic on Getta's face, his mom's house at Easter time (food, food and more food!), root beer floats, driving across the Prairies in an air conditioner-less car, swims in Lake Winnipeg, picking us up at the airport during a blizzard and hoping the tracks in the snow didn't lead to a ditch, cheery greetings whenever I called, building a ramp to get Auntie Getta home for one more Thanksgiving, watching him kiss her gently on the top of her head, seeing him dare to love again, hearing him laugh as we met Kathy and he met my girls for the first time, hearing his voice and seeing his courage over the last 3 years.

Thank you Uncle Fred, you were a great uncle!

Love Grace, David, Alicia & Olivia

"3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 peter 1:3-9

So sorry to hear of Dad's passing. He was a very special person and will be fondly remembered by many. He was a good friend and neighbour to my parents (Ted & Isabella) who lived across the road from him.
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
