John (Jack) Dennis Stevenson

June 8, 1949 - July 19. 2017

Jack passed away peacefully at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre on July 19, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family. Special thanks to Matilda for all your love, strength, courage, and support throughout the difficult times.

Jack was predeceased by first born grandson Jamie; uncle Ronald; mom Victoria & pop Fred; Oma & Opa; brothers-in-law Harold, Lesik, and Keith; brother Hughie, as well as nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

He will be remember and sadly missed by his lifelong partner and wife of 48 years, Veronika; along with their children Teresa (Craig), Candy (Frank); grandchildren Tabitha, Franklin, Angie, great-grand-daughter Skylar and his faithful companion Carona. Jack’s surviving siblings Percy (Carolyn), Steve (Verna), Emeline, Marlene (Heinz), Brian (Glenda), Doug (Mary Jane), Ellie, Donna (George); his sister-in-laws Barbara, Rose, Karla, Anne, and brother-in-law Detlef (Deb); the many nieces and nephews.

He was a long haul trucker for over 40 years travelling coast to coast across Canada and the U.S.A.; as well as ensuring the food and supplies got too many northern First Nation communities in Manitoba.  Jack spent years as a commercial fisherman alongside his brother Steve.

Some of his most cherished time was spent in the company of his family and friends - out hunting with his buddies, Teresa’s wedding, Candy’s wedding, backyard barbecues, and many family get-togethers.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.  Amen.
